How does coaching work?
Coaching provides an environment where someone can address important areas linked to their performance and the results they wish to achieve. The one-to-one nature of coaching means that learning is targeted and it is approached in the most effective style for you.
It normally takes place in one hour sessions. The timing between the session will depend on what will suit you best, often they are weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
The first session is usually one of exploring the big picture of where you are at the moment and arriving at a clear and motivating outcome. The subsequent sessions will typically address what action you have taken towards the outcome; what is the learning from the action; what issues are currently preventing you from achieving the outcome; and taking action to bring about change.
This process allows for rapid learning and personal development. It promotes fresh perspectives, creativity and resourcefulness. It lets you reflect on the current strategies, skills and solutions that you are using and develop new ones to help you achieve your goals more easily.
